I know the weeks vary in different parts of the country - we're just starting the second week. Weather was awful the first week and a house full of sickies (colds and flu). Does anyone have any interesting plans or holidays during the Easter holidays? :)

I'm just 2 weeks into my new job, so no holiday plans for a while! I have just booked a week in Dorset tho for the beginning of September, staying in my friends holiday Train House...I'll post some pictures of it. I’m really looking forward to it already!

Wow that looks such a lovely place to go and stay :-) I especially like the veranda and seat, as if a railway platform :)

Yes, it is lovely ☺️ It’s a really comfortable place to stay too, and perfectly situated for exploring Dorset…plenty of beautiful and interesting places to visit nearby.

I've never been to Dorset :-) There is seaside I believe. And isn't it Thomas Hardy country?

Yes, to both! Lots and lots of sea...Purbeck Island is actually surrounded by sea, and Portland too. Its a really beautiful coastline. Thomas Hardys house is at Dorchester I believe, not far from the train house. Lulworth cove is about 5 miles from the train house. One fun thing is that there is quite a bit of MOD land down there, so often you get tanks trundling past the train house!

Sounds like my kind of holiday!

Dorset is possibly my favourite county. Really beautiful countryside and interesting places to visit.
The coast is sublime. Although it is a few years since our last visit we always went to The Hive Beach cafe for the best fish/seafood lunch ever. Near Burton Bradstock if I remember rightly. They have a website.
Thomas Hardy country yes and his home(s) are good. Dorchester pleasant, Lulworth Cove and nearby are stunning plus other places. Crowds in peak times are more problematic now making some places hard to visit, like Lyme Regis but had the best ever crab sandwich for lunch there. Just had to visit outside of school holidays.

Just an added thought. The Swannery is worth a visit too. The only place where the swans are not ringed as royal I believe.

Yes, I’ve been to the swannery before at Abbotsbury. The tropical gardens at Abbotsbury are also well worth a visit :) So many lovely places to visit…Studland, the Blue Pool, Corfe Castle, Old Harry Rocks are all fab places too :) Bennett’s water gardens are also worth a visit…they house the national collection of water lilies. There was a programme on channel 5 the other day featuring the gardens and lots of other places too :)

Beautiful photos :-) Makes me want to go on holiday ha ha.

I forgot it was September. Yes it's not nice waiting!

What memories your photos and places evoke, Lovelyness.
haven’t made any plans for this year yet, but you have got me thinking…..

I forgot it was September. Yes it's not nice waiting!
It'll be a nice reward for finishing my period of re registration in my new job…should finish that around August.

It's always good to have something to look forward to :-)

The train house does look like such a lovely place to stay & the photos really are beautiful, September must seem like a long way off but that really is something to look forward to.

Hamsters like holidays too, they stow away in suitcases & sneak out at night to play….
