I find it a bit hard to tell from photos really but they look as though they’re probably ok to me.

They don't look too long from those photos. The way to tell is to watch her eating - if she can't open her mouth to pick up a small piece of walnut, for example then you'd know she was having problems. How old is she now?

It does seem to be when you switch diet that she loses weight so seems less likely to be a tooth problem.

She is about 14 months old now.
i gave her 10gr science selective pellets friday evening, and this morning there was 6gr left.

She finished the 10gr science selective today, took her 4 whole days. Her weight is a good 46gr now.
Her stool is good and also no smell and less drinking it seems.
This evening i gave her the food i linked here (from witte molen puur mini hamster) She loves that too i think. She emptied about 3gr in 5 minutes and left the SS in the bowl.
If she likes both foods, i will feed both to her 50/50.

Good to hear she is doing well. I hope you are feeling more reassured now.

Good to hear she’s eating better & maintaining her weight again.

Thank you!she is doing very will with both foods together, i can give her some variety this way too.

That is such a beautiful picture! You should enter the photo competitions. :)

It is a gorgeous photo :-) Best to wait till next month's competition as this month's is Spring themed :-)

She’s adorable & totally agree about the photo!
Good to hear she’s doing better.

Gorgeous photo, lovely to hear she’s maintaining her weight and eating her dried food. 🙂

since a couple days she is refusing to eat the science selective pellets at all.
in the past few weeks she remained a good 47gr weight, now she is back to 43gr.
on the video's from the cam i have on her tank, i see she doesn't touch the food.
i already checked if she has a lot in storage, but i cannot find any food in her bedding/houses/nest.
o think she prefers the mix form White mill now. I will continue to feed both, but i think she will leave the science selective.
she also burries her bowl when ther is only SS in it. do you think the white mill food is a good one? it is this one: https://www.wittemolen.com/en/products/puur-dwarf-hamster-friends

I wonder if the weight fluctuation between about 43g and 47g could just be normal for her? Maybe depending on how active she is. It might not necessarily have much connection to her food. Sometimes hamsters seem to go through phases of being less and maybe eating more, and then being very active.

I think Daisy has a good point there, weight often does fluctuate a bit for various reasons & it can be hard to tell.
If she continues to lose more weight then you might need to make changes but it’s quite a small change so I would see how she goes now.

I’m not to keen on that food really, I’m not a fan of any food that has the word derivative in the ingredients as it can mean just about anything & doesn’t give a good idea of what’s in it or even if the ingredients are consistently the same.
The protein is quite low but that’s easy enough to top up.
It does also contain fruit which is best avoided.

As she’s had a few changes it might be better not to change her food again just yet & see how she goes.
Can you get Mixerama or Rodipet food mixes where you are? I think both are better than the food she has at the moment.

The Rodipet hybrid mix is good and has good protein levels as well. I’ve used that before.

yes i can get both here by ordering online.

i can see how active she is because i have a camera on her tank. I think it is the otter way around with her: she starts eating less, looses weight, and then becomes less active.

I have tried so many foods for her already.

she had mixerema before, but it gave her very loose stool and she didn't eat everything.
Getzoo: also loosing weight and loose stool, hoarding a lot, not eating everything.
with Bunny she lost weight and she hoarded a lot, but did not eat everything.

now she is on science selective and white mill. at the beginning she liked both and she maintained her weight, but now she ignores the SS.
she still eats the white mill foodmix, but i don't think the ingredients are very good.

I still have a mixture of getzoo&mixerema, i can try this next to the science selective? but i am afraid it will give her loose stool again....
it does have much better ingredients then the white mill mix, but i think it has something in it that she doesnt't seem to digest very well.
Would i try this for a few days and see how it goes?

i can try rodipet after this,...
