Raffy was so funny the other night. He is very attention seeking now Pip is back in the room. He's jealous! When I was putting all the bedding in Pip's cage, I dropped the shoebox that was Pip's temporary house before he moved back. And it was still on the floor near the cage that night. While I was feeding Pip and calling him that night I kept seeing something out of the corner of my eye and for a moment I worried Pip had jumped out of the door! But when I looked, it was Raffy in Pip's shoebox! Which was kind of on its side right by my feet and he kept looking up at me and going in and out of the shoe box. As if to say "I'm here! Why are you talking to the other hamster?". I would have thought he wouldn't have liked the smell of another hamster in that shoe box.

It's so funny that Raffy is back to being jealous again and Pip doesn't even have to do anything to cause the jealousy apart from being there

Haha, he probably tried to scent over Pip's scent to make him go away.

Could be that but some years ago my cat pee'd in my dogs new bed I think it was just spite
p.s no dogs or cats now just Little Pete who has a huge hole in my heart to try and fill.

Yes I think so too lol. "If you're going to stand there talking to that other hamster, I will take over his house and make sure you notice me!" It may also have just been it was a cardboard box on the floor! I thought he would shun it if it smelt of Pip! Although it's possible Pip mainly just used it as an entrance and nested underneath near the bottom of the cage. The main thing I found in it was hoard.

A couple of nights ago, Raffy decided to make a big mess in his cage! I am guessing this was in response to only being out for about 15 minutes that night. I found the flower basket knocked over again and in a different place, and his little hay hide/step was tipped over on one side and substrate piled up everywhere - and all over the floor! The hay hide looked like it had been blown up it was on top of such a mound of substrate. He had decided to dig in the one place where there's a little gap in the perspex. So he had clearly been digging under the hay hide!

Well it could well have been him doing some digging for some reason. But it did seem a coincidence that he had shorter out of cage time the night before. As long as he was happy digging and not cross! But hard to tell!

Raffy's really got it in for that flower basket.
Shame you didn't have the nightcam on him. That would have been very entertaining and interesting footage.

I forgot to put the kitchen door barrier up straight away when Raffy was out the other night. I let him out and sat down again for a minute knowing he was under the coffee table. Then realised I still hadn't put the barrier up. Thought I'd better check Raffy was still in the room so called him and looked a couple of places and couldn't see him (but then that happens a lot) so I thought I'd better check in the other downstairs rooms in case he had left the room. I didn't think he had but thought I'd better check. Had a quick look and couldn't see any sign of him and I was slowly walking through the "junk" room looking, got to the end of the room and turned round - and Raffy was following me lol. Walking behind me slowly. I think he just followed me out of the room. So back he went and barrier up.
