Raffy (Syrian Hamster)

Also I saw these - clearly he doesn’t like the roughage pellets in his food so has been chucking them over the side of the house.

I have been planning to announce Raffy's gotcha day on 23rd April (St George's day) but have missed the date! So belated happy gotcha day raffy. He must be about 15 months old I think.

Do not worry Maz. Raffy will not know and we are still celebrating. :)

He did have one little unexpected treat last night though - sneaking out of the living room and having a rummage around near the treats drawer in the downstairs bedroom :) I took the barrier down a bit too soon. Normally I wait till he's back in his cage.

He would have loved that!

Belated happy gotcha day Raffy, a rummage in the drawer sounds like your kind of treat!

Belated congratulations on your Gotcha day Raffy. Don’t blame us for being late with our greetings- no names but try and guilt trip an extra treat out of your mum from us all tonight!

Raffy in the room with the treat drawer tonight

He didn’t quite manage to get into it. He got half way up the drawer but couldn’t get any further. Clearly the dust pan wasn’t quite in the right position.

Not out of the drawer but he got one in his cage instead. The edge of the drawer is a bit high for him - he had a few goes at pulling himself in and tried standing on the dustpan but then gave up.

That hole in the carpet was chewed by Newt! The playpen used to be in there. I quite like seeing Raffy next to a giant bag of fitch! I wonder if he knows something is up.............
