I am moving house soon and may well get a long haired Syrian once I am settled.

I have been in touch with happy hamsters uk who deliver hamsters to their new homes and will most likely adopt one of their lovely boys when the time is right.

I just read the bit about possibly adopting a long haired Syrian! That sounds lovely. I hope the house move goes ok. Happy Hamsters are great aren't they? Both our current two came from there. I like to have two hamsters. With one it's nice too but then when they go I find it so hard to deal with and somehow I find it easier when you still have another one to look after.

Happy hamsters are really great yes. I need to have my living world eco cage up and running in order to adopt from them. Sadly I have lost the screws and although I was given the measurements from someone of the Hamster Central forum the screws that I ordered were not as the seller had promised.

So the search for relevant screws continues ... the originals are packed somewhere!

I still have a pack of screws missing I never found! They were for a door sign and specifically to fit the door sign. I contacted the seller who kindly sent me another set. Which I put on the kitchen table in an envelope marked "door sign screws". Then tidied up and put them somewhere else - couldn't remember where and never did find them! I turned the house upside down looking for them. Still don't have a door sign.

Annoying that the seller didn't send you the right ones. If they are standard ones they should be easy to buy in a hardware store. Or maybe just use some different ones that will fit? I can imagine that would be a fiddle though.

I think you should be able to get screws that fit at a B&Q, Screwfix etc. Did you contact Hagen or do they no longer trade?

Apparently it only needs 8 screws to assemble it. From what I can see they go in from the outside of the down bars - that would be four presumably - one for each corner. The other four to attach the base? Or the wheels to the base? They will be wood screws.

I believe it's these?

This is the article where it says it needs 8 screws

Cant find contact details for hagen so perhaps they have stopped selling it.

3mm round and 40mm long. Not complicated surely!!!

Thanks Maz found that site. Zooplus no longer sell it and I just cannot work out how to contact the amazon seller. It just takes me to my past orders ...

I think it's the ones that need an allen key like ikea furniture.

You're right, they were hex screws. You can get a multitool with all the different hex sizes on - we have one for a bicycle - it has all the sizes on. Doesn't cost much. (Edit they used to be about £5 but like everything else are now about £10!). But then you'd need hex screws. Tbh I don't see why the end pieces need hex screws, other than it's easier than using a screw driver. The wheels might do though.

You could email viovet. They sell parts for Hagen cages. Maybe they know how to get replacements screws.

Like this. The bit underneath that says Amazon.co.uk is a link to a multitool with allen keys of all sizes on.

Amazon.co.uk

Here you go - M3 x 40mm hex screws. Black though

As Beryl says, might be easier to just go to a diy store and ask - although I get mind boggled by the number of different ones in B&Q! A small local hardware store might be easier - if you have one.

I was just going to ask who Violet was - didn't read properly :ROFLMAO:

Tulsi the link is where it just says Amazon - you click on that. I need to change the link colours so they stand out better!

Rather then ask the seller, you may get a better response by asking the community. If you ask in on the actual advert then people who bought it will answer. I have found that really helpful when I want to know something about a product.

Yes asking on Amazon reviews maybe - good idea - but I think Tulsi's established the size and type of screw and just needs to source them.

I just moved these posts to a new thread about Tulsi getting a new hamster to keep the other one about Rafferty :)
