Look what I just found online accidentally! A 120cm version of the Ferplast Criceti! It looks like an improvement on the 100cm version because it does actually have some small doors in the side as well as the roof that comes off. The 100 version just has the large top roof. The price is actually not bad for such a large cage either - £159. Considering the 100 version was selling for over £160 at one time!

It also has narrow 7mm bar spacing which would be good for dwarf hamsters and roborovski's - whereas the 100 version is 1cm bar spacing.

£159 is still a lot of money for a cage though. Considering the Plaza 120 is £100 ............ They also do sell a 120 cage stand to fit it which is 49cm high and costs £52. Which some people might like. The only other good thing about ferplast, which might warrant it for some people - is they sell all the spare parts separately, so you can always replace something. Unlike me with my plaza, having to buy a whole new cage for a replacement back panel!

The open corners worry me a bit. Could a foot get caught? For gerbils, the plastic tube covers could be chewable, but they should be OK for hamsters.

Blossom has a ferplast criceti, although a smaller version. It suits us very nicely 👍 The corners are different on hers tho…IMG_7838.webp

I see what you mean - where the sides join? That gap would be as small as the bar spacing though. It isn't clear what fastens the two sides together - whether they are plastic or metal clips. I suspect they will be permanently attached so the bars fold. I doubt it would be plastic cable tie type attachments though as that would be silly.

It says "Sturdy painted iron mesh, with reinforced frame and edges for extra stability"

Which isn't much clearer! I want to see one now! Just to see what holds it together.

The corners on Blossom's ferplast criceti are held together with solid plastic, so not sure really why they would have changed that 🤔

Currently on sale for £127.20 in case anybody wants one!

7mm bar spacing looks good although the wheel looks tiny and those platforms seem really high. Especially the corner one.

Like the opening top though.

Great find Tulsi! Yes the wheel and little house they come with are horrible! Fairly standard though to need a new wheel. The shelves could be adjusted in height or not even used. I think only using one shelf would be better (or having both at the same lower height).
