My little 2.5-year-old Hammie is getting really old.
She is getting a little more clumsy/unstable, and urinating more.
She is also starting to suffer from a bald hindquarters. Is this old age, or does it suggest parasites? I don't see her scratching much.

She is an amazing age 😊. I would just put it down to old age - especially if it’s not bothering her and she’s not scratching much 😊.

It is also very typical for them to have fur loss in old age 😊. At 2.5 she is a centenarian in human terms so it’s amazing she has such lovely thick fur everywhere eise 😊

She is very sweet. At this age I let them anything they really enjoy! Within reason.

Sometimes Metacam gives them a bit of a boost in old age (pain relief). However that usually also can mean needing a vet visit - which is stressful for a slightly doddery ageing hamster. So it’s a case of weighing it up. If she doesn’t seem to be in pain it might be better to just leave it. If you already have some Time have sometimes given some (providing you know the dose).
