New Hamster

The cage looks great, I bet you're getting really excited now 😄

I think I went through most of the excitement at the start, and while setting things up - then the wait - and now I'm just looking forward to it. You can get worn out with excitement ha ha. I think Raffy is noticing how quiet it's been as well so I actually think he'll like having some other hamstery noises in the house as well.

I wonder what Raffy's reaction will be to having a new hamster neighbour 🤔

I think he will like it somehow. There has always been another hamster here ever since Raffy arrived. At first I think he thought it was a temporary change, but recently he's been quieter and not so demanding. So I think he will like knowing there's another hamster again. After all, if there isn't, he has no-one to compete with!

I turned the big light on and took some photos anyway, but they're a bit dark :) So the gnome hide is on the back shelf with the shell. Rainbow bridge moved to the front (it's not really needed for getting in and out of the sandbath as the substrate is high enough). New dried sunflower at the front. Water bottle holder/hide on top of house and water bowl in the corner behind it. And added the two cardboard boredom breakers.

I think it looks amazing already 👍😍

Aw thank you Jain. I added a few more sprays after they came out of the freezer last night - canary seed sprays (also known as phalaris I think). They're not particularly noticeable though once in the cage.

I had a late night last night - Raffy got stuck in the toy box three times. I think he was doing it on purpose to get my attention! I'd help him out and 5 minutes later he was back in again! So I'm a bit too tired to get excited today but I'm sure I will nearer the time!

Hope all goes well with the handover and once installed you can relax Raffy didn't half pick his time to be a little stinker sometimes it's like the have a 6th sense

Here she is! Name yet to be announced (mulling it over after seeing her!). She seems quite tame. It wasn't easy getting her out of the pet carrier at first so popped her in this storage bin for 10 minutes or so as it was easier to transfer her to the cage that way. She climbed on my hand a couple of times :)

Hello little one 😍
She really is gorgeous Maz, so happy for you & I know she is going to be very happy too!

She looks so like my first hamster I did a bit of a double take seeing her!

She's beautiful, so happy for you both. Can't wait to see more of her☺️

I'm about to start a thread for her with some more photos and videos :-) I had a few names in mind, and when I saw her, one seemed to fit - so she is Millie :)

Maz she is gorgeous love her pose and little white bib she is going to be spoilt in the nicest possible way 😍

Millie kind of looks like the hamster on Hank's profile picture, just less white and more black.
