He's definitely avoiding me still No matter how late I wait up, he doesn't come out until I'm gone and the lights are out. He waited and didn't get up till 6am. He seemed a bit confused that the food bowl had moved and went slowly back and forth between the bowl and the shelf as if to say - how did that get there? But seemed quite laid back and then ran on his wheel on and off. All fairly normal at this stage though.

Aww I can just imagine his confusion with the food bowl moving!
It sounds as though he’s just taking his time getting used to having his own place, it probably won’t be long before he starts to respond to you.

It's just the stage I tend to start putting the veg further away from the house next, so they get used to coming out and being seen!

He has a name now He is Tino (short for Valentino) as he came just before Valentine's Day.

Thank you Now if he would just come out! But I know it's early days and I have to be patient. He had a nice long piece of cooked spaghetti last night, left outside his door. He's very good at sneaking out for food without me noticing!
