Marshmallows turn to worry us 🥺

This week it is our old girl marshmallows turn to worry us
She spent yesterday in the vets and has been back today too
She's very frail and wobbly. Yesterday's tests revealed she has arthritis pretty much everywhere. She is really struggling to walk currently and has stopped eating.
She had fluids yesterday and again today and is being syringe fed every few hours. She has metacam and paracetamol and has had a cartrophen injection.
She also has an enlarged kidney which was discovered in July when a similar thing happened.

Im so sorry to hear this. Sounds like little Marshmallow has the best treatment. She is beautiful and I hope she feels better once the pain relief kicks in.

I had a piggy with arthritis who was on metacam permanently and she did so well on it.

Thankyou, it's funny you say this as during the night he was the most active I'd seen him in a while, he was climbing his coconut house to reach his sunflower and generally making me smile with his antics. I went from crying because at this point I'd realised we needed a quality of life discussion for little marshmallow to smiling at Teddy being funny! I was just gutted my phone was on charge so I didn't get any photos

I am extremely sleep deprived so I'm sorry for the delayed replies but I am very thankful for everyone's kind words

I remember when marshmallows arrival made us smile during our first ever pet loss experience. Days after loosing our first cat to lymphoma my original two piggies had a mass falling out and each needed a new friend. Fluffy needed a spay first to sort her hormones out but nugget was desperately lonely. I was so nervous when I went to pick her up as I in no way felt ready for a new addition. But the minute I met her she won my heart with her teenage antics i think in some way she got me through that first loss (and the following losses too). She is my 10th loss and watching teddy's antics it feels like we have come a full circle

At least once a year she would give us a health scare, but she always fought so hard I couldn't sit back and watch her suffer this final battle after she had given us so many happy years how I will miss her
