Lovely hamster (and other rodent) greetings cards etc

I came across the most amazing illustrator the other day and I thought I'd share her website. Silly Badger Designs. She has the most lovely cards, prints and stickers of hamsters, rats, guinea pigs etc and other animals too.

She's also currently doing a custom portrait of two of my gerbils, which is how I originally found her (through her other website).

I just thought I'd share it as it's nice to support small business, especially when they are so very talented.

My gerbil portrait is finished:



This is Tilly and Wispa, my gerbils who died suddenly for unknown reasons last November. Ever since they died I've been looking for something to remember them by. I was hoping to adopt some relatives of Wispa but that didn't work out. However I love this portrait. Here they were in real life:

I asked for them to be focused on each other in the portrait since I will always remember them by their special bond. I worked so hard to get these gerbils together. In the beginning Tilly hated Wispa and threatened to kill her every time she came near the mesh divider, but five weeks later they were best of friends! I wish I could have had them as a pair for longer.

You did such an amazing job to get them to bond and then they were so close. I am so sorry you did not have longer with them. The portrait is a lovely way to remember them by.

Yes, it's a digital portrait so I'm going to have it printed it on card and framed. Not sure where I will hang it yet.
