Is your hamster feeling the heat?

It's warm weather here in the Uk right now. It's not affecting my hamsters right now as it's cool indoors, but some hamsters may be feeling the heat. They often start sleeping outside in the cage somewhere if they feel too hot, so a cool tile or hide, or similar can help.

How is it going for you?

We have a fan on but the temp has been up to 27C. Socks hasn't pouched his veg yet but should be out soon. The gin gins have been pretty flat most of the day. I put out cool pods and ice bricks for extra relief There has been a big demand for cucumber today

Blossom has just been out to pouch some bedding! She usually only does that when she’s cold I can’t believe that she is feeling cold

How is it going for you?

I think Blossom will be ok over the weekend but the forecast for next week is looking very warm, so I will dig her tiles out to help keep her cool

I managed to slip a tile into Blossom’s enclosure under her wheel this morning without waking her up It’s pretty warm and set to get hotter next week
