Hi there, I'm Riven. I'm from a small town in the west midlands and I love all animals great and small. I'm vegan and very passionate about animal rights, welfare and ethics. I'm pro 'adopt don't shop' as I believe that there's so many animals in rescues and shelters throughout the world that deserve a loving warm home and spay/neuter to prevent over population in an already struggling rescue system and to prevent the suffering of those born only to be euthanised as a home can't be found or there's no space in rescues.
As an adult I have rescued/adopted various animals from appalling conditions. My current count is 3 dogs, 2 rats, 10 guinea pigs (2 of which died before or just after birth), 2 gerbils and 6 hamsters. I've also helped find homes for 5 other hamsters, 3 mice, a pair of gerbils and a pig (no not a guinea pig, an actual pig).
My current hamster is called Ares and he's a 6 month old roborovski. I will be giving him his own thread soon for you all to meet; he is a lovely little guy.
