Henry was our first hamster. He was a lovely, independent, silver grey pet shop Syrian hamster who had two unusual hobbies. Henry liked to strip wallpaper and the brown skin off peanuts. We buried him in his beloved coconut where he slipped away peacefully.

Yes, he was lovely and he got me and my OH hooked on hamsters.

Henry is very handsome. Lovely that his beautiful personality got you hooked and you have now helped so many rescue hamsters whilst also having your own pet hamsters. Hams peels his peanuts too, so cute 😊

I never really saw that much of Henry. He was very much a man's man and responded to my OH's "how ya doing mate" a lot more than my silly hamster voice.

Henry never burrowed but loved heights. He would sit on his little degu shelves for ages, pretending to be a parrot.

Another thing he loved was scrambled egg or porridge in the morning. Henry started the habit of the hamsters sharing my OH's breakfast. Often Henry stuck his nose out when he heard the coffee machine. That was his cue that brekkies/supper was on its way.
