Hi everyone , I have just bought my hamster Bear x he is very inquisitive and not afraid of me I have had him for 4 days x I am so amazed at the cage sizes and care that is applied to these beautiful babies in comparison to when I got my first hamster in the 60’s x Bear is a Syrian and he is in a pets at home 3 cage which he hates and so do I x I have just ordered a burcatstate size 2 and I hope this will be better for him x any help and tips will be helpful thank you x

Is it the barred PAH Habitat 3? It's a decent size but has very bad access (tiny doors) so I can understand why you can't get on with it The Bucatstate 2 is an excellent enclosure, if it's the 100cm one and not the 80cm one!
When it arrives, and you have it all set up and him moved over, you could try requesting a refund for the original cage. Some people have done this saying it's not suitable - even if it's been used. However if it's the large 95cm one they may not accept a refund.
I've added a link to suitable cages and enclosures below in case you wanted to look at others as well, but the Bucatstate is a great choice

Thank you for your kind reply x I am now looking for a suitable night cam so I can keep an eye on him at night have you any recommendation’s please. I was going to return my cage for a refund but unfortunately Bear has chewed off one of the corner pieces already it’s just a little raised piece that keeps the cage from moving so I don’t think they will be happy with the returnHello and welcome

Naughty Bear! It could still be useful as a play cage or somewhere to put him during a clean out maybe? There are quite a few nightcam options. I've had two or three and this has been the best one - it's not the cheapest but the price has come down since I bought it! It has very good picture quality and what I also like is it shows in a different colour, on the recording, when there has been movement - so it's easy to scan through the recording the next day and see where the hamster has been doing something, rather than have to scroll through a whole 8 hours worth of recording just to spot something! You need a micro sd card to put in it. Then it records all the time and/or you can watch live on your phone from elsewhere - even half way across the country!
