Hello & introducing Mishka

Hello!

I’m Alex and live in the UK. I’m really happy I found this forum, it’s very informative about a hamster care. I used to own a hamster as a kid and I wish I had access to this kind of information back then!

This is Mishka, I just got her 2 weeks ago and she is about 1.5 month old. I’m actually still not 100% sure about the gender . She is full of energy and very curious, loves to burrow which is great to see.

Hi Maz,

Thanks for asking . I got brave enough to check and can confirm she is a female.

She is doing great and is such a nice and lively hamster. Fully tamed now, comes out and onto my hand for snacks.

I was worried about feeding - I found conflicting information about how much food to give her, especially as she has additional sprays and forage. I think I was overfeeding her so now I’m weighting her regularly and we will see.

I’m also taking her out for some playpen time a few times a week.

Any ideas on the feeding for dwarfs and how to make playpen time better would be much appreciated
