Hi everyone,
This is Nibbles, my 10-year-old's dwarf hamster (absolutely loves him some broccoli). We just got him in October and he's around 4.5 months old.
As I'd had a couple hamsters as a child (who, looking back, probably had a stressful existence), I thought I knew what I was doing... we got a seemingly up-to-date book on hamster care and headed straight for the pet shop . Then I started looking up some more info online and got totally sucked in to this little world of hamster care!
So Nibbles now has a larger enclosure with no bars (he'd been doing a lot of climbing and falling, which really put me on edge) and we're gradually adding more interesting things to his home.
He seems to be feeling settled and has made himself a cosy nest with at least one tunnel coming off of it, which I find so impressive! He also loves nibbling on dried flowers, millet sprays and broccoli.
This seems like such a warm supportive community and I'm looking forward to learning from you all
