Have too big portions ruined his appetite?

they're littered around but I can't tell if Perturabo's appetite was filled by the pieces of lettuce, broccoli and carrots. I haven't seen him care much for the "donuts" which are supposed to be what he was eating at the pet store. He has glutted on the "rodent mix" seeds, and I just don't want to give him any more treats till I know he has his protein. He has been invisible in the burrow network, which I mapped in my head, and calculate he built a complex underneath the house that has at least 3 tunnels around the deep portion of the bedding. I can see one tunnel in the side of the glass that appears to extend beneath the house.

That's great he's been digging tunnels and burrows :) It sounds like he's really settling in. Does the seed mix have the correct amount of protein? If so I wouldn't worry.

I don't know. It was for rats. sunflower seeds, what looks like a "corn flake" piece of cereal, sunflower seeds and some pieces like pellets and "tablets" whatever they are- and than what looks like "bird feed" small tan seeds that he largely disfavors over everything else in the mix.

I don't tend to worry too much about exactly what they're eating. As long as their food provides everything they need and they always have access to it (I never ration food), I think they will eat what they need. Same as how most humans manage to instinctively eat a relatively balanced diet if they have access to a variety of different foods.

That instinct seems to be a little atrophied in a few humans I know. :ROFLMAO:

That's true :ROFLMAO: But human diets are quite messed up by the fact that we have hyper-palatable sugary foods which taste really good which providing much nutrition.

Even on diets of junk food, humans normally get a minimally adequate amount of protein and most vitamins. People don't as a rule suffer from serious malnutrition outside of poverty, illnesses that cause malabsorption, very unusual/restrictive diets and other extreme factors.
