Hamster General Election

I thought we could have a Hamster General Election. For those not in the Uk, if you're not already aware, there is a General Election going on to see who will be the next Prime Minister - hence the topic.

So what we need is various Hamster Parties and their Manifesto's - and then other hamsters to decide who to vote for.

Raffy has decided he is retired from politics, at the age of two and a half. But Tino wants to stand for the Shy Hamster Party and is looking for members for his party.

Any other hamster starting a party, please post here (or ask your human to do it for you) and when we have the Party names sorted, hamsters can volunteer as members and help design banners etc.

The independent hamster is coming, watch this space (not related to Nigel Farage).

Raffy has decided to come out of retirement and have his say. He is also quite competitive with Tino and isn't shy, so doesn't want to join Tino's Party and has started his own party. Extrovert hamsters who dig a lot are welcome to join. Note from Raffy: Not related to the Monster Raving Loony Party.

Socks is inclined to write letters to MP's, so would like to volunteer his services in a letter writing capacity. He is very much hoping to see some female hamsters running for office and to hear their ideas!

That would be excellent if Socks did some letter writing to HP’s (Hamsters of Parliament)

Jas would like to share the Independent Hamster Party. While sometimes she can be a bit shy and she loves to dig, this party is all about independence. We will share hints and tips for more out of cage time and how to convince your owner that you do need another treat.
While we do appreciate we all need help, we still need to be our own hamster.

So on my advice, Socks has decided to try running for election. He feels that a great many campaign issues have already been covered, so is looking for one or two pressing issues his fellow hamsters might relate to strongly enough to vote for a one or two issue party. Of course, he promises to bring in regulations that are fair and will benefit hamsters generally.

Blossom is standing for the ‘All you can do is chew ‘party…no, not fruit pastilles! Blossom is promising a wide range of natural chews to all hamsters including egg boxes, palm leaves, dried banana leaves, vines, and coconut husks among others. Electioneering advertising to follow….

This thread is so good, what a great idea. I'm so impressed with the amount of effort everyone is putting in, the posters and hammyfesto's (still funny) are fantastic. I can't wait for the election!
