He was brought for my daughter and she really wanted to keep him in her room but had hoped he would wake earlier so she could interact wt him. That didn’t work out so he came downstairs and I started caring for him and was determined to give him the best life possible after meeting you all here on the forum, learning so much and then turning his cage into something much more hamster friendly and nurturing. I’ve always been a big animal lover, having worked at a vets as my weekend job as a teenager.Hams really is your hamster and has bonded with you.
I can't remember, was he originally bought for your children or as a family pet or was it you who wanted a hamster?
I do remember that he travelled home inside your handbag.
I now like to think Hams is our family pet as everyone stops to chat to him when he pops out in the day and can give him a stroke, but each evening it’s just me he interacts with daily and he knows I keep his home tidy etc. He definitely responds to me more than anyone else and I love him loads, he’s such an adorable character.
Yes, handbag hamster he was, that was one crazy car journey.
