I tend not to do much about Halloween these days! Anyone else? Every year I get things in, just in case anyone comes trick or treating, but no-one ever comes as we're out in the sticks ha ha.

I almost forgot about it this year as was negotiating changing the clocks back!

Some people do some lovely creative things at Halloween, so if you have any, do post them here :)

I never get any trick or treaters either. I have never actually done anything for Halloween. I too am interested in hearing others creative plans. :)

I used to when my kids were little and dress up as well to go out guising with them.

I lived in the Scottish Highlands then and Halloween was quite different there. Kids had to do something creative to get a treat like sing a song, tell a joke, perform a little dance etc. They didn't just hold their bags out and expect people to put some sweets in.
I think its quite boring and unimaginative where i live now or maybe its a sign of the times.

I think it's evolved more into a commercial thing and similar to what they do in the US. When we were kids it was atmospheric - it was apple bobbing and roasting chestnuts in the garden shed. I only went trick or treating once, with my cousin who knew about it. We had one man ask what do you mean trick or treat? We said - well it means you give us a treat or we play a trick on you. He shouted at us and told us to clear off or he'd call the Police! And actually - he was probably right ha ha.

It can get unpleasant. I've known of kids spraying paint on cars when no one was home to give them goodies.

I love the costumes that so many of the children dress up in. There are some really great ghost and whitch outfiits, well worth handing over a few sweets to see them!

I only get some sweets in for family members that come trick or treating. Dogs struggle with the constant knocking so we usually sit in the dark with the tv on.
