Hello Grommit! He looks so happy there :-)

Yes, he likes it now. It's a little bit longer each day. Hoping to get a better playpen soon, one we can leave set up and fill with adventures 🐹

Lovely photo of Grommit enjoying his new jar, looks like he’s having lots of fun!

He looks like he's doing great, love all the photos of him. I love how hamsters always just climb over the walls of a maze, never had one that didn't

Oh, is that common?
I thought it was just Grommit haha

Grommits Playhouse came. Shame it has a perspex top, would make a lovely bedroom.

Ideas please.. 🐹

That is lovely! I would check the dimensions of the window though to make sure it isn't something he could get stuck in! The window does look a little small maybe, but it could be blocked off. It's hard to tell from the photo - the diameter needs to be at least 5 to 6 cm across. If you need to block it off you could just glue a piece of wood inside or glue wood dowels across it, or if someone is handy with a saw or rasp, make the window bigger.

Is it for inside the cage or the playpen? You could always cover the top with a chill and chew mat :) Or even cardboard.

The window shaped as a face is too small to get in, might be the angle of the picture. There's another window that measures 4 inch wide and a very large door❤️

I'm not sure yet, it was a bargain and I knew he could use it in one or the other. A mat on top sounds great!

You'd be surprised how hamsters try to get through holes that are too small! What does it measure left to right at the widest point just below the ears? But not including the width of the ears.

It should be ok then :) Depending on how big Grommit is. Some large 230g hamsters that would be a bit small for.

He's mostly fluff...at the moment. I've never weighed him actually.

So that's the next thing when he's out of the cage :-) If you have flat digital scales it's very easy. Just put those on a large book on the floor. Put a tiny piece of cheese or cucumber in the middle then zero the scales. They usually just walk on to get the food and sit there eating it, then you can read the scales. They can vary in size a lot. Some can be as low as 120g - some 260g!
