Thanks guys. The only new thing has been adding strips of tissue for him to use as bedding and he has been taking the whole pile each night so maybe he was just buttering me up

It does all sound normal. My Syrian boy Raffy won’t come out when I want him to! He’s up about 9.30pm but spends AGES sitting in a private little corner, having a very good wash. If I offer him his tube to come out he sort of looks like “you’re interrupting me “. And ignores it. Sometimes he’ll come over and contemplate the tube - but then turns round and goes back to his wash corner.

So he keeps me waiting! Then when I am ready to go to bed he pesters to come out!

So tonight he did exactly this but hasn't pestered me to come back after I left. He came out when I called his name, sniffed about for a bit, and then started to wash up in the corner. Eventually he just kinda snuggled up over there by the pile of tissue I put in so I left

Once he's been out a few times he'll know what to expect and may show more signs of wanting to come out, but there's no rush until your building works are over. He sounds like he's settling in nicely and interacting with you . With the paper strips, just keep putting more out as they disappear. He will be busy constructing a nest.
