So Mr. Sleepy has been on the same food just a pellet food that has everything in it he needs or so the pet store told me. I went to purchase him some more food but the store I went to didn't have the same food but said that the food they had which is round pellets instead of straight pellets was the same. He will not eat it and just tosses it all over his aquarium. Will he eventually eat it or should I just try to get the same food he was on since I brought him home? Kind of a shame I will have to toss the bag I just purchased.

Can you get any of the following mixes? Robos like mixes with small seeds and a good variety of ingredients, and ideally a dwarf specific mix, and I think that will make him very happy:

Higgins Vita Garden (US). Needs the protein supplementing.
Bunny Dream dwarft expert (Uk and Europe)
Rodipet organic dwarf hamster food (Uk and Europe)

If you're in the US (sorry I can't remember) then Higgins Vita Garden is your best option. It's sugar free and has a good variety of ingredients. Because the protein level isn't high enough for the first year of life, you'd need to supplement the protein. This can either be fresh food extras 2 or 3 times a week - eg a bit of hard boiled or scrambled egg, half a walnut or other shelled nut (unsalted). Or you could get freeze dried chicken cubes and give those 2 or 3 times a week.
