I just spot cleaned Finley's house. Phew, it did stink like smelly socks. Luckily, he wasn't in the house but there was a lot of rustling next to it and movement in his obs hide. I felt watched and uncomfortable.

I can just imagine him watching wondering what you’re interfering with! Sounds like it had to be done though, it can be a bit whiffy!

Came downstairs last night to see Finley in his sandpit.
He stopped, sniffed the air and promptly disappeared into his house.
Usually, hamsters mellow with age and become more tolerant of humans but this one is going the opposite way.
He's even blocked his obs hide off now!
My OH can't remember the last time he saw more than a tail disappearing down a hole, lol.

I'm not worried, there are plenty of others to watch. Sometimes i wonder if he's happy though and that's difficult to gage when you don't see them.

Finely sounds happy to me. He seems very content and he sounds like he active at night in his wheel.

Oh yes, he is active at night and seems to run wheel races with Bernard.

That is a very interesting thought.
Orko is becoming quite accepting of humans now. He may even get to like you yet, lol.
Finley is not very subtle with his dislike of humans. One brief whiff of me and he's off. At around 21 months old this is not likely to change either.

I cannot see Orko liking me. He still rushes out of his burrow a minute after I go to bed. He is not subtle either. I find Finley and Orko so endearing.

He sounds a bit like Pip who I see less and less of. I will see if that changes with lighter evenings and warmer weather. The only time Pip comes out is to nag me about something! Or tell me something is not right. Then disappears again for weeks.

Hmm, Finley is starting to look old as well now. He hang around for a bit today so i was able to get a good look of the whole Robo.
When i do a health check i concentrate more on individual parts of his anatomy like teeth, nails, scent gland etc.

I know what you mean, sometimes you just sit & watch them & it suddenly strikes you how they’ve aged. How’s he doing in himself?

He was a little slower to react today. Maybe he was tired and had been out for a drink.
He's still active at night and eats all his fresh food.
