Fifi

Fifi loves her cucumber treat ball! I’ve made one before for Toni and it’s good for their enrichment 🙂 Unfortunately, Dora didn’t quite enjoy her’s as much which had raspberry in it. She can be a bit fussy with her fruit and veg as she isn’t keen on carrots either! 😅

Fifi has also been trying a few new foods lately including raspberry, spaghetti and egg. Loved all of them 😁

She is gorgeous.

Cucumber treat ball is a good idea. I’ve made those balls before and put a peanut inside, but hadn’t thought about cucumber in it.

Lovely idea for the cucumber treat ball :-) I had to laugh at Dora being fussy about raspberries. I've had hamsters who don't like those either, but they all seem to love strawberry (except Charlie, our first Syrian who hated all fruit except apple or banana).

Gorgeous photos of Fifi :-) She looks like she is licking her lips on that first one - yum! And the second one is adorable - she looks so happy and excited :-)

😅 Yes, strawberry is popular with the girls! They haven’t had apple or banana yet, like Charlie 😊🐹 Fifi says thank you, she always enjoys being out in the living room.

Hello, here is an update on Fifi 🙂 She is loving life and enjoys her spaghetti. 😁 Fifi has moved her sleeping area from her sand bath to under her wheel! So it’s slightly difficult to clean and keeps getting stuck in the bedding 🤣 She is lovely though and stretches a lot as you can see in the photos 🙂

She is more cuddly than our previous hamster, Toni ❤️ And doesn’t run around as much, it’s interesting how different hamsters have very different personalities!

Awww, she is soooo cute, look at her little butt lol

She has the most adorable face and she is clearly very contented if she's stretching regularly :-) It's great she is cuddly. Those are both great photos and a good catch of a stretch! It is interesting isn't it, how they all have such different personalities - way beyond the general "females are hyperactive and males are lazy and more affectionate" thing. I've had males who were hyperactive!

Tino and Higgins - both male syrians - have completely different personalities and behaviours.

Thanks very much, yes I heard stretching means they are happy 🙂❤️ Are Tino and Higgins usually out at different times? I’m not sure what it’s like with two syrians at the same time. Fifi is always the first to wake up in the evening about 7pm (So did Toni) and Dora comes out around 11pm.

Tino and Higgins come out at different times but they both WANT to be out at the same time usually 😂. If one sees the other one out they pester and get a bit jealous or competitive maybe. It’s hard work with two Syrians and I said I’d never do it again after last time! I hadn’t intended to and had been looking for a Robo but …..

I think a Robo and a Syrian are the best combination 😊. But of course I love them both. It’s hard to give them both enough time and attention sometimes though - they would both like to be out every night. I’ve had both out tonight. Higgins first in the playpen for a while then when he went back in he was trying to climb out of the door and come out again. And I was about to go to bed and leave Tino until tomorrow but there he was sitting at his door giving me pleading looks and he knew Higgins had been out. At least they are both up by about 10pm as that’s feeding time.

There have been times when I’ve had two out together but that was Raffy and Tino. Tino was a baby and having bath tub time and Raffy was older and free roamed in the living room - so OH would keep an eye on Raffy and I would pop between them. That was because Raffy was highly active and wanted to be out all night every night.

So I had two Syrians then as well but didn’t see much of Tino the first few months as he disappeared ! So that was easier with Raffy wanting out so much but not great to never see Tino.

And that’s just reminded me why I thought getting another Syrian would be ok as Tino was quite reclusive really. Then when Higgins came along Tino wanted to be out more!

Tino and Higgins sound like lovely hamsters even if they can be a bit of hard work 🤣 It’s a shame hamsters can’t play together nicely! 🙃 I think Fifi was a bit like Tino at first, hiding a lot and not really coming out much too. Maybe Higgins encouraged Tino to come out of his shell 🙂❤️

I think it was a bit of that - competition :-) He was the only one in the house before Higgins arrived - but it was also that I changed his cage as well. The previous one wasn't working for him or me.
