Hello! I'm looking for a safe way of giving baths to my hamster, but I'm having problems choosing which sand to buy.
I know products marketed as "dust" and chinchilla baths should be avoided, but this one is also marketed for dwarf hamsters (which it's the species I own): https://www.amazon.com/-/es/EveryYay-Lookin-Spiffy-Chinchilla-animales/dp/B09W9FKQ3W?th=1

Does anyone have experience with this brand or should I just get reptisand?

PD: I would also appreciate recommendations on any hamster-safe products to buy from Petco, since it's a store I can easily access :)

Hello and welcome to the forum 🙂

I'm sure members who shop at Petco will be able to help you.

Hello and welcome :) Dwarf hamsters need a sand bath in their cage permanently but yes it would be better to buy something like Desert sand and not anything that says Chinchilla "dust" on it.

Not all reptile sands are safe either - they need to state they are calcium free. Niteangel sells safe desert sand on Amazon.

Niteangel sand - click here

I couldn't see much on the petco website.

Or you can just buy a large bag of childrens play sand - check that it says sterilised on the packet. If not, it needs baking.

Welcome to the forum. I think reptile sand without calcium is a good option. :)
