I sent my beautiful dog Eagle onto her next adventure on Wednesday 🥰 She would have been 18 years old on May 8th. I got her at 3 months old when I was 19. I had just broken up with my first boyfriend and on a whimsical fancy, picked her up from a lady on an acreage. She was an amazing dog and the best impulsive decision I ever made. She was with me through so many ups and downs. 17 years is such a long time to know anyone but she had an amazing life with my family and I and I stayed with her until the very end. I've been there for the loss of four of our family dogs growing up but this was by far the hardest because I think she was the first one that was truly mine. I'm happy that she got to spend her retirement years with my mom on her acreage only a few minutes away. Lounging out on the deck and grass with her cat buddies :) I thought I would attach some photos of her and the lovely prints that the vet staff made for us- the nose ones made me ugly cry :) one is of her at Christmas this year and the other is all of our dogs who are now gone- Heather, Duchess, and Eagle.

What a beautiful girl Eagle was. She sounds so precious and you had such a beautiful bond. I am so very sorry for your loss. The nose and paw prints are so beautiful and a wonderful way to remember her. It must be so hard to loose her after 17 years. I hope you are okay. ❤️

I’m sorry for your loss, Eagle was a very special & precious friend to you & she had a wonderful life, you must have many precious memories, it’s very hard to have to say good bye though.
Lovely photo of the dogs & the paw & nose prints are very special.

Sad to hear, she was an intelligent, wonderful dog from her pictures. She will stay in your heart forever.

Absolutely gut wrenching - I'm so sorry. I'm glad you have your hammy to comfort you - grief can take time x
