Yes, Dora is very active in the night. Looking at the camera, she is on her wheel for hours at a time I only ever see her emerge late at night and early in the morning.

It's nice she comes out in the morning. It might change over time and she might come out in the afternoons sometimes as well.

I've heard that bigger wheels are safer as they turn more slowly and stay under control more easily

I think also they just run in them easier That is a good point though Socks Mum - a larger wheel will have less rotations for the same distance run. The hamster can run just as fast. I'm still trying to get my head round whether or not it would spin more slowly! I would think it would spin at the same speed, but have less rotations due to the size - I might be wrong!

She's beautiful Is that her having some out of cage time? I think those Omlet multichamber hides are great. We should have more cardboard hamster products available! (Maybe not cardboard wheels though)

Yes, she enjoys being in the playpen I’d really like to get her out a bit more though, she is a sleepy girl and tends to come out when everyone is going to sleep! I agree, cardboard hamster products are great for them to play with, Fifi likes the house with carrot sprinkles on top from P@H and I like making them things from old boxes to hide in.
