Doops

We sadly lost one of our doops last week
He died in his sleep and looked lovely and peaceful.
He’ll be very much missed as he was the sweetest little fella

He lived with his brother at first but had to be separated a while ago.
they‘re George and Peppa. George is still going strong, very much an old man and not very active but has a great appetite and loves his chew toys still

I didn't know you had duprasi. I've looked after doops a couple of times and they're very charming. Much more similar to hamsters than to "normal" gerbils.

They are very sweet arent they. I’ll definitely have another but not just yet

They’ve both been very healthy. George is still doing well he just sleeps more and when he’s in his playpen he rolls around in his sand bath but doesn’t explore as much

They are quite unusual but there’s a good Facebook group run by breeders advocating appropriate care. And like Daisy said they are more like hamsters in lot of ways than gerbils, even though they are gerbils if that makes sense…

It was certainly a grand age. Duprasi were very popular for some time but I don't hear much about them these days either. It's good to hear there is a dedicated group for them I hope George is enjoying life and rolling

I’m so sorry for your loss of Peppa MacKyen, it is always hard & I’m sure he’ll be very much missed, glad you still have George with you.
That is an amazing age & Peppa must have enjoyed a wonderful life with you.

I didn’t know you had doops either, I’ve wanted one for a long time but it never quite happened, yet.
