Even though we are having to budget carefully right now, I have managed to budget and create a vision of seasonal wonder. I had no fairy lights, but look!! An upturned cigarette lighter with the torch on, and no one would ever know 😃 I know I got a bit carried away with the baubles, but you can never reeeeaally have too many! My finishing touch is my snowman. Please note the marvelously detailed face, lovingly and painstakingly created with a bit of shiny insulation tape peeled off a damaged extension lead. Don't worry, I'll be fine so long as I don't plug it in while I'm stood in the sink.
So here it is, my lovely, lovely tree 😍😃Compress_20221208_185749_9349.jpg

Well done! You have been very creative. I do not put up a tree but will be interested in seeing others. :)

I forgot to mention my star!! Made from recycled tinfoil from last year's roast gizzards 👍🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😜🤣

It's great. Nice and original :-) We used to have one almost the same as that - a very minimalist one. Still have it and it goes on the kitchen table now. We have an even smaller cardboard one! About 4 inches tall. But tend to get a real one each year (just a small one) after accumulating various baubles over the years. All the bits and pieces were bought years ago and just come out each year. When I lived on my own I just had a small cardboard one as a token tree :)

You can't quite see the fairy/angel on that as she's pointing the wrong way (under the star). A kind of hand made felt thing I got from ebay one year and am quite fond of :)
That looks lovely! You did a nice job of decorating.

Nothing creative about the decorating - everything gets thrown on any old how lol. There is too much as it's enough for a bigger tree really. I like the history of the baubles each year when doing it. There are some very cheapy ones that look like parcels which are squares of polystyrene wrapped in shiny paper. First ones ever bought. There are 3 we were given in the street one year by a Christian organisation which was nice. A couple of fancy old fashioned ones bought from a Christmas shop one year and it reminds me of that year. And a ceramic bell that a friend gave me when I was grieving. So I like getting them out every year. The angel is only from a few years ago but a lady makes them out of felt :). Most of the baubles were a job lot in a box from a £1 type shop about 10 years ago.

Personally though I'd rather go on a good holiday and not do Christmas trees and gifts etc!

You'd get on great with my ex hubby 🤣 He's hilarious, physically makes the effort, while every nerve in his body is screaming "NOOOOOO! " 😱🤣🤣

The snowman has quite a sinister expression. :ROFLMAO:
That snowman sneaks out at night and spits on all the Christmas trees. He believes in "Woe woe woe" not "Ho ho ho." I cured him tho. Shoved him in the oven with the Christmas cake. 5 hours at regulo 3. Job done 👍 😃

It is lovely to hear the stories behind the decorations. 😀

Something I picked up from my parents. Talking about the history of the decorations each year as we gradually acquired more. In those days of course, the lights used to pack up regularly.

Oh yes! Christmas decorations. There's a thought. Must get Angelo out tomorrow and decorate the mirror. I do have a bubble but meant a bauble and don't do trees.

I have fairy lights up all year round and i like Halloween more than Christmas so it's Halloween all year round here.

The main man Angelo is out and strutting his stuff and the bauble is there.
Christmas decorations done.

I noticed that too :) I'm impressed as I can't keep house plants alive. The Christmas tree once a year is the only house plant here! It's potted - the idea is it can be planted outside and used again next year. Tried that once before but the last tree was really tiny and got eaten by rabbits!
