Bugs going round

Lots of nasty bugs still going round. I have two sickies in the house at the moment - it’s been lingering on for two or three weeks. Thankfully the hamsters both seem ok and fingers crossed I don’t get it! I had flu earlier in the year so hope I’m immune to this one!

Mine lasted a good two weeks & is still lingering too.

Yes, quite a few people in the communal therapy office recently with colds. Fortunately , I have managed to steer clear!

Had an awful winter here over about 2 months starting with Christmas. Chief culprit was the 3 year old bringing bugs home from nursery class in the local primary school. He did this twice. The first time it swept around the whole family after the Christmas gathering. Two had antibiotics for chest infections as the cough element just would not clear up. Then after a couple of weeks, it struck again. Not quite as severely but my H was the worst hit each time. Age I suppose as he took weeks to shake things off unlike when he was younger. Luckily, the baby ( who is five and a half months now, time flies!) seemed to deal with things remarkably well. By now she has had about 4 bugs so her immune system must be gathering strength!

I haven’t got anyone to blame for mine but I think that’s quite a common scenario now Coco, same things happening with my cousin who helps out with looking after the grandchildren, similar age to yours & half the family is on antibiotics again & again!

Two here ended up on antibiotics as well after a cough wouldn't shift. They are both still coughing badly. With instructions to cough in their elbow so the germs don't spread to the hamsters.

I’ve been quite impressed with the kids who have come into clinic…any who have coughed at all, just clearing their throat, have coughed into their elbow. They have obviously been taught well! (Probably had it rammed down their throats during the pandemic lol)

Spoke to soon I've gone down with it now. OH is on the mend and stepson is better apart from a cough. More thumb twiddling I guess!

As no one was up to cooking today, we got a takeaway Sunday roast from a local pub. It was very nice!
