There’s a risk the hamster could come out possibly too quickly for you to remove the light so it’s safer to only use one when the hamster is out of the cage.

So I am guessing the UV light is dangerous for their eyes?

I’m sure you’re careful when doing it Rainbow and have such a lovely big cage but I can see it makes sense to maybe do it when the hamster is out - unless you know where they are and are doing a different area

Everything is back to normal here. Blue has been putting miles on his wheel and has come out for a few evening visits. Hoping he resumes his afternoon strolls since I haven’t really had the chance to work on any taming or bonding the last couple weeks.

Blue has been making regular morning appearances for the kids and coming out through the day when it is quiet. Tonight he was very anxious for his fresh veg and popped out to grab his broccoli the moment I put it in.

Hi folks! Sorry it has been so long. Things have been going very well with Blue. He lets me pick him up and handle him and seems quite happy.

One habit he has, that I find a bit odd, is he pees on his running wheel! Wondering if anyone else has experienced this or if this is unusual! He is really making sure I clean that wheel weekly.
