Hi, I’m Tan, I’m new to this group but I thought this thread was pretty cute so I thought I’d Join in.

My current hamster is a Syrian called Bailey.
I re homed Bailey when he was brought for a child and they were not interested. I found out he was produced by a hobby breeder and his colouring is called “Champagne dom Spot” with a satin fur type. He was born on the 14th of March 2022 so, he’ll be having his second birthday this week!
Baileys’ my first male Syrian having a history of purely girls but he’ll be my last hamster for a while because I’m starting university this September to become a veterinarian (for the next 5 years) and would like to spend more time with my senior dog once my studies begin.

Bailey is housed in a savic plaza which I’ve modified and attached 2 plazas together. They’re stacked, the bottom plaza has acrylic panels and 10-12” of bedding and his top plaza is filled with toys and a wheel with a couple of different substrates.
When I leave treats on top of the cage, he’s often climbed and chewed through the bag and they’ve poured out into his cage!

Hello, that was a really nice introduction. Lovely to see Bailey, he's very cute. The set up sounds really interesting, it would be great to see, if you are happy to share.

What a great set up, what a lucky hamster, no wonder he looks so happy in the photo

Hello to Bailey! He's gorgeous. Wouldn't you be able to have a hamster at University? I suppose space in a room might be an issue.

That's a clever set up. There is now a Plaza 120 which gives more depth and width, but having two plazas is nice for him too :-) I guess he might not be able to manage the vertical tubes as he gets older though maybe - but then you could just rearrange the bottom cage for him perhaps so everything is in one place. I tend to find it's their back leg climbing that goes first, even though they're still active.

One of my male Syrians is just over 2 years old as well - and going strong :)

I love the name Bailey as well! It was one of the ones on my list when we got our recent hamster - but he didn't quite look like a Bailey - whereas your hamster does! It suits him.

Hello & welcome to the forum.
Bailey is a lovely hamster, great to meet him & see his set up too.
