I've heard of guinea pigs getting them stuck in their teeth and not being able to chew properly until the piece of corn has been removed. Pulling the grains off and using them as scatter forage should be OK. My Syrian took no interest in them, but other hamsters might enjoy them. They need to be sold as food, rather than as an ornamental item to avoid any treatment with chemical preservatives or pesticides.

They are very big aren't they?!! You can get mini corn cobs like this for hamsters. I think it depends how hard the individual knibs are as to whether they would get stuck in a hamster's teeth. Personally though, I would send them back. I don't know if a hamster would enjoy mini ones - I've never tried them! Hamsters can have individual tastes but I assume they would like the mini ones :-)
