Hello everyone. I'm new here and a relatively new hamster owner. Yesterday I bought a pack of these Rosewood Naturals sprays from the pet shop. On their website, it says they are safe for Syrian hamsters but on the packet it only says for rabbits, guinea pigs and chinchillas. I think I've identified the other sprays as oats and panicle millet, however I'm not sure about the yellow flowers (bottom right). I think they are dill flowers, is anyone able to confirm that and if so, are they safe to give to hamsters? I've seen that dill leaves are but can't find anything about the flowers. Many thanks!

Hello and welcome to the forum. I actually have not heard of dill flowers. I know hamsters can eat dill but I could not find any information about the flowers. Hopefully somebody who knows will post soon. Just a tip, if you freeze these for one week before giving them to your hamster it will help kill any bugs. It is lovely to have you here. 😊

Thank you for your reply and the lovely welcome. I'm thinking I may just leave them out to be safe.

Hello and welcome :-) Does it say on the packet what it contains? Dill is perfectly safe for hamsters :-) I am not aware of anything to say the flowers are unsafe, and neither of our food experts are around right now (although @Daisy might be on later), so I can understand you leaving them out for now. I am aware that the flowers are edible for humans and I would probably give them myself, but maybe wait for one of the food experts :-)

Yes, dill flowers are safe :)

Thanks Daisy :-)
