Another US state bans sale of live animals

West Hollywood in the US has banned the sale of "retail" live animals. This is good but it does suggest there could be more backstreet breeders, Even so banning the retail sale of live animals is a big step forwards. The report says "all" live animals but for some reason the unfurled link says only cats and dogs. Not sure where the link got that from - I think that was the earlier ban in 2010.

Stores have until 1st May 2026 to stop selling animals.
