Alexa randomly playing music

Very strange. We have an echo dot in the living room (and two echo shows in other rooms). The echo dot has recently started playing music out of the blue which is really strange. Even when there’s no one in the room and it’s quiet. It only plays out of that one, not the other two. We tell Alexa to stop and it stops. But a few days later it will randomly do it again! Anyone know much about these things?

That is odd. Have you tried googling it to see if other people have reported the same thing?

Yes - it just said you just have a routine set so go to routines on the app and turn it off. We didn’t set any routines and I couldn’t see any on the app. I think it might be triggered when there are notifications (eg when a parcel is due),

It’s not too creepy as it doesn’t happen at night! Fingers crossed! It’s just annoying.

I used to have a babble ball for my dog (would say random phrases as he played with it). Occasionally it would just go off, saying something like 'I'm gonna get you'...now that was pretty creepy in the dark lol

Ah that’s it Frida! He must be sending ultrasonic signals to it. It started playing Queen at tea time. Can’t remember which song.

Alexa just did it again! At exactly 5.37pm - this time I heard her say something about your online routine and started playing Supertrooper by Abba. I asked her to cancel the routine and she just said check your Alexa app under routines. I already did that and there’s nothing there
