I have something similar that is more long and thin - I don't find hamsters chew them but they seem to like things hanging there as I guess it's a kind of privacy screen/cover as well. What I do think though is things like that can be useful for putting treats on or between sections then it gives them some activity getting at the treats. But without a food element they do often just ignore them! Having said that they do seem to like things just being there - I took one dangly thing out once because it was ignored, and there was major drama - so I put it back again!

I'm trying to remember where I got the one that's in Raffy's cage (you can see it just left of the door on his cage photo).

I found that mine actually got quite annoyed with hanging things unless it was food of some sort!

This is a bit like the one I have. You can stick the odd pumpkin seed between the ball and stick bits. I did try to stick sunflower seeds in the holes on the little wicker balls, but they kept falling out - didn't quite work!

That one is in Lilly's cage and i put sunflower seeds on it. She always checks it when she gets up.
No food, not interested.

My Syrian Henry actually took a garland down. He climbed up both sides and bit through the string. I thought the string had broken and put it up again. Two nights later it was down again. I guess he didn't like it.

Thinking of getting these for Albert. Does anyone else use them for their hamsters? Are they any good?

I have these, but I can't say my hamster is very interested in them, I'm afraid. Uses them as a step sometimes😀

Albert came out to play last night. Hubby went to bed early so I had Albert all to myself. Albert is such a sweet boy and my heart grows bigger for him everyday 🐹💕💕💕

Albert: Oh good I have my mum all to myself.

That is so precious. Your bond with Albert is beautiful.😍

That is really lovely. It is also quite inspiring to hear about a russian dwarf enjoying one to one time with their human out of the cage regularly. He is clearly quite tame and bonded with you.

The bond between Albert & his mum is really lovely & the way Russians bond with their owners is one of the many things I love about them.

I can't remember where I read it but I read russian dwarf hamsters can get very attached to their owner. I don't know if that's true but my hubby says in Albert's case it is. 🐹💕👩‍⚕️

I came down stairs this morning and I always check on Albert first. I was surprised to see this. Are these little angel wings or bedding left in Albert's tube?

Aww, the little cutie! I love to see photos of Albert. Keep them coming.

It's an adorable photo of Albert. I had to insert it in the post so it was a bit bigger :)

I've been sitting next to Albert's cage with the door open for about one hour. I've been talking to him on and off. He's been having a good wash in his hanging basket. Every now and again he'll have a wonder over to his sand bath for a roll around and then a quick run on his wheel. He doesn't seem interested in coming out to play and he keeps dozing off in his basket. Is it normal for him to keep dozing when he's been a sleep all day?
