It’s with a heavy heart that I need to let you all know Ham has passed away. My beautiful grey boy was our first hamster and I very much under estimated when I first brought him home how big a part of the family he would become.

Initially brought for my daughter, he soon became my hamster and I will dearly miss our evening routine together. I will miss his sleepy little face when he first wakes up and comes out to say hi and have a little stroke, I will miss watching his excitement as he forages and finds treats hurriedly rushing off to eat or hide them, but most of all, I will just miss his little face, whiskers twitching as I stroke his head.

The last two weeks have been tough as he’s faded so quickly, but I now know he is in a place of rest and that he will join his hamster forum friends who have passed before him and play at the rainbow bridge together

A huge thank you to everyone here on the forum who have always been so kind and helpful. I will remember my fun loving Ham just the way he is in his avatar, a cheeky little chap

Zara that has made my cry. I am so sorry. I know you knew it was coming but it’s still so hard when they go. Hams was a very big part of the forum, and a special boy. It gets easier as time goes by but the first few days are not easy.

Your beautiful tribute to Hams has brought tears to my eyes. I am so very sorry for your loss. Hams was such a special boy and so dearly loved by you. I still remember when you bought him home in your handbag. I always loved hearing all about Hams and his adventures. I hope you are okay and you know we are all here to support you.

I’m so sorry Zara, such a moving memorial for your very special boy, I know you knew he was reaching the end of his life with you but I also know how we can never really be prepared & the loss is so hard, my heart goes out to you.
A lovely boy who will always have a special place living on in your heart, he had the best life with you & as the pain of his loss eases you will be able to remember all those special times with him.
Run free & play well at the bridge Hams, you will be very much missed.

Zara I was so very sorry to read that Hams has passed over the rainbow bridge. Even when we see it coming and think there is time to prepare, it always hits hard when such a hole opens up in ours lives.
Hams was a sweetie and will be missed here as well.
