My nan is bedbound with severe arthritis and has been for years and sadly she's never been offered itAny humans on the picture?!. I have knee problems and it hasn’t been offered as an option. I am going to look into it.
We just got home. She had hay stuck behind the eye. It's completely ulcered the whole eyeball. She's got antibiotic drops 6x a day. She needs to be rechecked in 3-4 days and every 3-4 days to see if it will heal or if she will loose the eye.Oh goodness. What happened?
Not at all, it's a common design flaw with guinea pigs- hay makes up 80%of their diet and they love to jump and hide in it but it often causes hay poke, I have not dealt with one this bad before though! I asked about laser therapy and the vet said absolutely fine to continue as planned. She's due another session tomorrow but if she's very stressed I may try and put it back a day or two.Oh poor Sally. Hopefully the antibiotics do the trick. So it's nothing to do with the laser therapy then?
After loosing charmander following eye removal surgery it is a scary time.I've always worried about hamsters eyes with things like hay but haven't heard of any issues. Poor thing. Good she can still have the laser therapy but it sounds sensible to put it back.
Poor girl, I hope it improves soonWe just got home. She had hay stuck behind the eye. It's completely ulcered the whole eyeball. She's got antibiotic drops 6x a day. She needs to be rechecked in 3-4 days and every 3-4 days to see if it will heal or if she will loose the eye.
Thankyou she did fab with her laser again todayI hope all goes well for Sally![]()
I am very luckySounds like Sally doesn't let anything get her down. She's a fighter. You're lucky to have a good vets who care so much.
Guinea pigs can get them but this is a ulcer, they put a dye in the eye at the vets and if it glows green its an ulcer or scratch. Her entire eye went greenIt almost looks like a cataract doesn’t it? Although I know nothing about Guinea Pig eyes!
